Meetings

Community meeting on the proposed Dalys Jett Act

A sent campaign follow-up records Council President Maggie Lewis joining the October 6 meeting with family and community. Breakout discussions raised practical questions about officer review, family communication, footage access, and funding consequences. This was work on a proposal; it did not produce a final ordinance.

Campaign archive: Rev. Scruggs’s sent October 13 follow-up, “Dalys Jett Act: Community feedback and proposed next steps.” Summary attributed to the campaign’s record.

Meetings

Community recommendations carried to Council leadership

Rev. Scruggs sent Lewis and Doran Moreland the community’s recommendations and requested a legal review, a continuing input process, and written next steps. The message also references a separate conversation with Moreland about a community forum; that conversation’s exact date is not established here. Suggested future milestones remained requests, not agreed deadlines.

Campaign archive: sent correspondence, October 13, 2026. No acceptance, sponsorship, or commitment by Council is implied.
